Susan Atkins Should Die in Prison

July 15, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized 1 Comment →

Manson Family member and convicted murderer Susan Atkins was denied release from a California prison today. She’s dying of brain cancer and her family asked for her release.

This is the woman who stabbed pregnant actress Sharon Tate to death because she “kept pleading and begging” for the life of her unborn child. This is the woman who didn’t apologize until years later, and then only during a parole hearing. (more…)

When Women Vote, Democrats Win (or, “Who is that Bumper Sticker For, Anyway?”)

July 08, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized 2 Comments →

I swear that’s a real bumper sticker. “When Women Vote, Democrats Win.”

I could not help but wonder, is that an encouragement or a warning? Are we supposed to encourage women to vote so the Dems win, or are we to discourage them so the Dems lose?

I’m sure it was an encouragement; a statement on the bumper of an “enlightened” Liberal making a blanket statement about the behavior of an entire group of people based on their gender.

Unfotunately, it’s quite typical. Those on the Left like to consider themselves open-minded, yet time and time again they prove themselves to be the opposite.

Liberal Toilet Paper

June 28, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Liberal toilet paper is very soft and looks pretty good. Typically it is well-intentioned, but it doesn’t do any real work. When it is done, it goes away leaving a shitty mess for someone else to clean up.

The Cooky Court (or, “What?…WHAT?!”)

June 26, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

In a ruling on Wednesday, the Supreme Court struck down a Louisiana law that would have allowed the state to seek the death penalty for people convicted of raping a child under the age of twelve. Some people will agree with the ruling and some won’t. That is the way of such rulings. Win some, lose some; it’s the nature of the process.

What leapt off the page to me when I read Justice Kennedy’s majority opinion was his mention of a “growing national consensus” against this particular use of capital punishment.

What? What “national consensus”? I am not aware of any such consensus, national or otherwise. In fact, the good people of Louisiana elected their representatives (by consensus) and those representatives enacted law (by consensus) and the Governor signed it. The consensus seems clearly in favor of the law, not against it.

But then I read Kennedy’s opinion again.

WHAT?! Since when does the Supreme Court, or any court for that matter, decide anything based on “national consensus,” whether real or imagined? It is the duty of the voting public and their lawfully elected legislators to determine law based on public consensus. Then, it is the duty of the Supreme Court to decide whether a given state, by enacting a given law, has violated the higher law of the land which we respectfully call “The Constitution.” National consensus? Absurd.

But, hey, while we’re at it Justice Kennedy, let’s decide some more hot-button legal issues based on national consensus, shall we? How about so-called gay marriage? Immigration? Partial-birth Murder? How about making English the official language of the land? The list could be endless…but, alas, Liberals only make claims like that in the moment. They never require any intellectual consistency of themselves. As Ann Coulter has said, “Words mean nothing to Liberals.”

Today, the High Court did do something right. They determined (albeit by a razor thin margin) that the Founding Fathers meant what they said when they promised Americans the right to bear arms. Not to allow a moment of common sense to sweep accross the land, Senator Dianne Feinstein said the ruling “made citizens in this great Country less safe.”

No, Senator, the only people less safe today are the criminals that Liberals like you are always trying to protect.

The Highest, Hardest Glass Ceiling (or “They Only Voted Against Me Because I’m a Woman”)

June 08, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Hillary just does not get it. The entire internet is not big enough to catalog the reasons to vote against her, yet she blames some imaginary “glass ceiling” for her not getting the nomination. Of course, to Liberals, this all makes sense (see my previous post). To them, merit is never a consideration.

Why do Liberals applaud so loudly while being insulted? That is something I will never understand. Barack’s favorite chant “Yes we can” really means “No you can’t, you poor ignorant Americans. You need me and the government to solve all of your problems for you. The only reason you are in this mess is because I am not in the White House.” People then applaud loudly as if to say “You’re right! We’re worthless! Give us Hell and save us Barack!”

It’s enough to make you sick. I want to raise my kids (a boy and a girl) to understand that in America, if you don’t like your circumstances, you go out and change them. There may be legitimate barriers that are encountered along the way that make you have to work harder than the next person over, but never, never, NEVER rely on the government to solve your problems. Firstly, the government has never solved anyone’s problems, and secondly, if you turn over your destiny to someone else, it is no longer your destiny.

If Hillary can blame her vagina for people voting against her, then shouldn’t she also credit it for the votes in her favor? No, she says, she ran, “…because I thought I’d be the best President.” In other words, “I should have the nomination, but those meanies voted against me!”

Oh, brother.

Barack Wins! (or, “Turns Out the Dems Are Just Plain Old Sexists”)

June 05, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Ask any Liberal and they’ll be happy to tell you that we have not had a black President because we are racists, and we have not had a woman president because we are sexists. Most of the time they blame this on Conservatives, of course. Apparently we don’t vote for or against people or things on merit. We do it out of some deep seeded hatred as a chance to keep {enter your favorite minority here} down. They ignore Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, Alberto Gonzales, Clarence Thomas and Sandra Day O’Connor, and continue to portray Conservatives as “mean old white guys.”

So, since merit is never taken into account, only prejudice, I watched with interest as the Democrats whittled down their feild of Presidential hopefuls to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Who would they prove themselves to be, sexists or racists? Turns out the Dems are just plain old sexists.

Of course, when John McCain wins in November there will be a chorus from the Left about how America is just too racist to elect a black man. At least the Left has proven iteslf to be more sexist than racist (but just barely).

Oh, Those Silly Liberals and Their Sad Double-Think

April 08, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. Liberals are a silly lot. They never, ever fail to amuse. One of their most bufuddling and frustrating traits is their ability to hold two opposing ideas in their mind, all the while maintaining that they are both true.

Often times, the same people who march in a pro-abortion rallies can be seen attending midnight vigils protesting the execution of someone who has raped and murdered a child. The same people who decry “special interest groups” turn around and put a “Vote Union” sticker on their Prius (their TOYOTA Prius, LOL). They credit Bill Clinton with an economic recovery that started six months before he took office, and then blame George Bush for a recession that started six months before his presidency. They applaud calls for tax breaks for companies that keep jobs in America when those calls comes from Democrats, but let a Republican float the same idea and it is shot down as “corporate welfare.” They believe sending tax rebate checks to people will help the economy, but if you tell them that people should just be allowed to keep more of their money up front, they act like it’s a ridiculous idea. When Don Imus makes one admittedly tasteless remark about the Rutgers women’s basketball team they insist that he is fired immediately, but when confronted with Jeremiah Wright’s anti-white, anti-American tirades they tell us that we should “get to know the man” and “don’t judge him on just a few comments, but rather his life’s work as a whole.” They believe that handing out condoms to 11 year-olds does not encourage sexual behavior, but allowing law-abiding adults to carry firearms would somehow encourage those adults to suddenly commit crimes. I could go on.

In his book 1984, George Orwell called this “double-think.” It is double-something, for sure, but “thinking” it is not.

Barack’s Triple Whammy (or “Wake Me Up When November Ends”)

March 17, 2008 By: Jim Category: Uncategorized 2 Comments →

By now, I am sure that everyone is aware of the publicity surrounding the racially-charged remarks made by Barack Obama’s pastor and spiritual advisor or, as the Senator is quick to say, his “former pastor.” And, I am sure that everyone has heard Mr. Obama’s statement that Rev. Wright is “like an old uncle who says things that I don’t always agree with” or, as I am quick to say “an old uncle who I chose to officiate my wedding, baptize my children, advise me during my political climb, inspire my best-selling book, and pray with me just before I announced my candidacy for President. You know, THAT old uncle.”

What is truly tragic about this entire poisonous affair is that it will barely slow, much less stop, Barack Obama’s campaign. You see, he is fortunate enough to have the rare “triple whammy” of the political world. He is a black, Liberal Democrat. For some reason that is beyond my comprehension, as a country we hold Democrats to lower standard of behavior than Republicans, Liberals to a lower standard than Conservatives, and blacks to a lower standard than whites. In Mr. Obama’s case, that means he can barely do any wrong whatsoever. Or, if he does, it means that no one is allowed to point it out without being a mean-spirited, conservative bigot. So, Obama will look back on this as “that bump in the road.”

Imagine for just a second if it came to light that John McCain’s pastor had made the exact same remarks, only in this case imagine that instead of whites, he was railing against Jews (or women, or Muslims). John McCain’s political life would not last the time it would take to read the headline. And, after he was forced to resign his Senate seat in disgrace, he would have no public life whatever. No speeches, no columns, no Saturday Night Live appearances (at least not in person, but decades worth in parodies).

And so it goes. Rev. Jeremiah Wright is correct about one thing. This nation is still steeped in racism. What he has wrong, however, is who the racists are. The true racists in this country are those Liberals who believe, quite deeply, that a black man simply cannot live up to the standards that “white society” sets for itself. They will give a pass to a black, Liberal Democrat that they would even deny themselves. The racism of low expectations is alive and well in their bleeding hearts.
